Instructor Profile: Silvia Wineland

Silvia has been practicing tai chi on the Danforth since 2004, first as a student of Ben Chung, then an assistant teacher, now as an instructor.
She is very fortunte to be able to take weekly classes with Mrs. Kwan, and also with Patrick Leung, our Tai Chi Journey head instructor.

Silvia learned about tai chi in 1987-88, as a staff producer at the Rogers Cable Community Channel where she directed and edited a series of 34 shows, Tai Chi, for Health and Relaxation, including the video of Master Moy Lin Shin doing the set, which still runs on YouTube.

Mrs. Kwan adjusts Silvia's
standing meditation hand position
at the January 8th Celebration.

Since then, much has changed, but tai chi has become an essential part of her life.
"I couldn't do without it. It keeps my worn knees from aching.  I keeps me flexible in mind and body. And it has introduced me to a great variety of wonderful people who share the journey."
