Tai Chi Classes
Join us to learn about tai chi, a gentle mind-body exercise for balance, flexibility and relaxation.
Regular Classes: September through June
Beginners 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Continuing Class 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm

Near the Chester subway stop. Enter through the playground on Hampton Ave., around the corner from the front door.
Summer Tai Chi in Withrow Park: July and August.
If you are curious about tai chi, you can drop in to observe and participate in a class.
Everyone is welcome, including experienced students who wish to continue their practice.
Instructor Profile: Silvia Wineland
Silvia has been practicing tai chi on the Danforth since 2004, first as a student of Ben Chung, then an assistant teacher, now as an instructor.
She is very fortunte to be able to take weekly classes with Mrs. Kwan, and also with Patrick Leung, our Tai Chi Journey head instructor.
Silvia learned about tai chi in 1987-88, as a staff producer at the Rogers Cable Community Channel where she directed and edited a series of 34 shows, Tai Chi, for Health and Relaxation, including the video of Master Moy Lin Shin doing the set, which still runs on YouTube.
Since then, much has changed, but tai chi has become an essential part of her life.
"I couldn't do without it. It keeps my worn knees from aching. It keeps me flexible in mind and body. And it has introduced me to a great variety of wonderful people who share the journey."
New students and experienced practitioners who wish to explore the internal aspects of Tai Chi are welcome.
